Tips for bags, crow’s feet and wrinkles

The skin is our largest organ that protects us against external influences. The skin keeps us at the right temperature, contains our senses and plays an important role in our social contacts. In order to function properly, our skin needs good care. Yet sooner or later crow’s feet appear, followed by wrinkles and/or bags under the eyes. We can slow down the aging process by eating healthy, drinking plenty of water, getting a good night’s sleep and getting enough exercise. In addition, you can use tips and acupressure treatments to tackle the first signs of aging even better.

The skin has many tasks

The skin covers and protects against mechanical violence, dehydration, toxins, bacteria and ultraviolet light. The skin also plays a role in regulating body temperature and contains senses such as feeling heat, cold, touch and pressure. The skin also has a strong social function, because the assessment of our fellow humans and how they assess us largely depends on appearance. If we want our skin to perform all its tasks properly, we must take care of it. Good hygiene is important and of course the condition of the skin is also related to what we eat and drink. Clean, well-groomed skin improves your health and your appearance, because a person’s face simply reveals its age.

Bags, crow’s feet and wrinkles

But no matter how well we take care of our skin, sooner or later the infamous crow’s feet will appear. At first you only see them when you smile or when you squint against the sun, but later also when our face is at rest and the nice laugh lines become real wrinkles. Bags under the eyes are also a common problem, we must distinguish between dark circles under the eyes and bags under the eyes. Dark circles under the eyes occur in people with thin and light skin and capillaries on the surface, but also in people with overpigmentation of the skin. The problem worsens as the skin ages. If you have bags under the eyes, there is a sagging skin or because too much fat or moisture has accumulated locally. Sunlight and smoking can cause the skin to wrinkle. We cannot completely prevent aging symptoms, but we can tackle them with the following tips.

Circles and bags under the eyes

With sagging skin, during menstruation or after a night of heavy lifting, many people suffer from unsightly circles or bags under their eyes. To make them disappear, you can take eye baths or make eye compresses. Please note that eye baths should be (lukewarm) warm and eye compresses should be applied cold.

Ingredients decoction

  • 20 grams of blood sorrel roots
  • 10 grams of cottonseed
  • 10 grams of licorice roots
  • 20 grams of thyme (a flowering plant)
  • 1 cup hot water

Mix all ingredients with the hot water and let the mixture steep. If you prefer to use the infusion cold, take a piece of (clean) linen or gauze for the compress and dip it in the infusion. For a warm eye bath, it is useful to buy a (glass eye bath) at the pharmacy or drugstore with which the eyes can be rinsed.

Crow’s feet

Eye wrinkles next to the eyes are called crow’s feet. They are caused by the aging of the skin and by the contraction of the eye muscles. Aging skin has little elastin and is therefore less elastic. This will give you small lines next to your eyes. In addition, smoking, alcohol and sunlight can cause crow’s feet. An excellent way to prevent crow’s feet:

Recipe ingredients

  • 50 grams of coffee grounds
  • beaten egg whites of 5 eggs

Mix all ingredients until you have a soft, even mass. Apply the mass to your face and leave it on for 10 minutes. After removing the residue (with lotion or water), apply a greasy cream and gently pat it into the eye skin (all around).

Wrinkles

Predisposition to wrinkles is hereditary, some people get (many) wrinkles at a young age and others only get them later in life. Mimic wrinkles, such as frown lines and crow’s feet, are caused by the tightening of the skin muscles, but wrinkles near the forehead or wrinkles near the mouth are caused by the skin sagging. You can tackle wrinkles with the following recipes:

Emulsion ingredients

  • olive oil
  • egg yolk
  • lemon juice

Mix all the ingredients and apply it to the affected areas every evening.

Acupressure grips

Acupressure against wrinkles

Beauty care doesn’t have to be expensive, especially if you already have some of the ingredients in the cupboard. In addition to good beauty care, you can also apply acupressure. To do this, press firmly on the inner tips of the eyebrows with both index fingers and then press against both nostrils with the tips of the middle fingers. Then press your thumbs against the corners of the mouth and drum at the same time on the jawbones near the ear with the index and middle fingers. Then use the thumb of one hand to press the tissue between the thumb and index finger of the other hand (the top).

But the best advice to keep the skin in good condition is nutrition from within, so eat healthy, drink plenty of water, get enough exercise and get a good night’s sleep.
