Fruit: Nature’s healthy candy

Fruit is healthy. We are all aware of that. Fruit is packed with vitamins, minerals and important nutrients. Yet there is a big difference between the different types of fruit, because they all have different properties. Eating fruit regularly has a positive effect on the human body and the brain. Depending on which vitamins the fruit contains, it can promote bowel movements, help prevent cell and tissue damage and reduce the risk of certain diseases.

What do vitamins do to our body?

We all know that vitamins are healthy. But what exactly do different vitamins do in our body?

Vitamin B6

Vitamin B6, also called pyridoxine, plays a role in the production of red blood cells in our body. This vitamin is important for resistance and digestion and ensures proper functioning of the nervous system.

Vitamin B12

Vitamin B12 (cobalamin), like vitamin B6, is important for good resistance and proper functioning of the nervous system. Furthermore, this vitamin plays an important role in the formation of healthy red blood cells and prevents certain forms of anemia.

Vitamin C

This vitamin acts as an antioxidant in our body. The antioxidant is responsible for the absorption of iron in our body, for the formation of connective tissue and for maintaining our resistance.

Vitamin E

Tocopherol, another name for vitamin E, is an antioxidant. This protects the cells in our body against free radicals (aggressive substances that arise in our body that damage tissues and cells, which can ultimately cause diseases such as cancer and cardiovascular disease). This vitamin also plays a role in the production of red blood cells.

The healthiest fruits

Two pieces of fruit per day is the recommended amount and all fruit is healthy, but some types have that little bit extra that makes them even healthier than other types of fruit. These include:

  • Blue and red fruits
  • Apple
  • Kiwi
  • Pineapple
  • Banana
  • Orange

Each of the fruits mentioned has a very positive effect on the body.

Blue and red fruits

Blue and red fruits, such as redcurrants, blueberries, blueberries, strawberries and raspberries, contain anthocyanins. This is a certain form of flavonoids and has a positive effect on the brain. They are mildly toxic. As a result, these substances activate the natural production of antioxidants in our body, which in turn ensures that our body is able to neutralize free radicals.

The Apple

The apple is rich in vitamin B, vitamin C and antioxidants. Furthermore, the apple contains fibers that have a positive effect on bowel movements. Many people are inclined to peel an apple before consuming it. However, this is a shame and absolutely unnecessary; the peel of the apple contains more vitamins than the flesh.

The Kiwi

After eating a kiwi you already have more vitamin C than the daily recommended amount. Eating a kiwi gives you a lot of energy and ensures good bowel movements.

The pineapple

The pineapple is extremely rich in minerals and contains vitamins C and E. This has a positive effect on digestion. After eating pineapple, you immediately feel more energetic.

The banana

Eating a banana has many benefits. The banana contains vitamins B6 and B12, among other things. These vitamins can help with withdrawal symptoms if, for example, you stop smoking. This fruit has a high sugar content, which means it quickly provides energy to the body. The high potassium content in bananas contribute to good blood pressure.

The Orange

The orange contains a huge dose of vitamin C. This makes you more resistant to diseases.
