Your sixth chakra, the forehead chakra

Every person has seven chakras, of which the sixth chakra is called the forehead chakra. The sixth chakra physically affects your eyes, cavities and temporal lobes. It also affects the many hormones produced by the pituitary gland. Finally, your sixth chakra influences your response to emotions. You can balance your sixth chakra by enjoying the silence or by finding out what you dream at night.

Where is your sixth chakra located?

Your sixth chakra is located between your eyebrows and is therefore also called the forehead chakra. This chakra is also called the third eye or inner eye. This already somewhat reveals the quality of this chakra, namely intuitive knowing.

How does your sixth chakra influence your body?

Each chakra affects a number of specific body parts. Your sixth chakra affects your eyes, forehead and sinuses, the lower skull and your temporal lobes. If your sixth chakra flows too much or too little, you may notice this, for example, in migraines, eye problems, brain problems or a stroke. This does not apply the other way around: if you develop one of these diseases, the cause does not automatically have to lie with your sixth chakra.

How does your sixth chakra influence your hormonal system?

Each chakra also influences a specific (endocrine) gland that secretes a certain hormone. The gland affected by your sixth chakra is your pituitary gland. The pituitary gland is located in the center of your head, just below your brain. It is as small as a pea and weighs less than half a gram. Yet it secretes nine different hormones that influence many different processes in your body. These hormones also influence the production of hormones produced by other glands, such as the thyroid, adrenal glands and testes or ovaries. This small organ therefore plays an important role in your body.

How does your sixth chakra influence your emotions?

Your brow chakra plays an important role in your response to emotions. If you know internally what you want, you are able to respond to emotions you experience from your intuition. A weakly developed sixth chakra can express itself in little imagination. With an overdeveloped chakra you can suffer from nightmares or delusions. By allowing yourself to feel emotions, you can experience them and therefore make them disappear. This leaves room for your intuition to grow.

What can you do yourself?

With a well-functioning sixth chakra you will be better able to listen to your own intuition. To bring your sixth chakra into better balance, you can try to enjoy the silence. For example, take a walk at night, look at the starry sky or go to a place where you won’t meet anyone else. You can also try to figure out what you are dreaming, for example by keeping a dream diary. If you manage to listen better and better to your intuition, it will become easier to find answers to your questions deep within yourself. That is the most beautiful thing there is!
